- Abstract
- This study estimated the health risk assessment of heavy metals in particulate matter(PM10, PM2.5) of indoor air in subway station. The heavy metals of particulate matter were collected using high volume air sampler from April to October on 2010 and analysed by ICP-AES(Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry). The risk assessment of them were performed on a four-step process containing with Monte-Carlo Model. In the hazard identification process, Cr6+, Ni were categorized as human carcinogens and probable human carcinogens, while Ti, Mn were no classified as human carcinogens. It was found that the excess cancer risk by RME(Reasonable maximum exposure) of Cr6+ was over 10-6 and then hazard index by RME of Ti was above 1 of limit value. In these results, we found that high cancer risk associated inhalation of heavy metals containing PM10 & PM2.5 of indoor air in subway station.
