dc.description.abstractIn this paper, we propose a new differential fault analysis on block ciphers with S-box in software environments. Differently from existing differential fault analysis which are applied to hardware environments, our attack is applied to software environments and recovers round keys by using a modified S-box table where some entries are altered. Our attack can be applied any block cipher with S-box. For concrete examples, we apply this attack to DES and AES.-
