A new aperture-coupled active antenna with a push-pull oscillator is proposed. The generated power of the push-pull oscillator is electromagnetically coupled to the radiating patch via a coupling aperture. By changing the DC bias voltage, the linear frequency tuning range is achieved. The even-order modes in the radiated harmonics are noticeably suppressed owing to the odd mode excitation via the symmetry of the push-pull circuit and the shorting wall of the radiating patch.-
