In this paper, we describe two telematics applications that we developed based on the TOPAZ platform. TOPAZ is a service-oriented open software infrastructure for telematics and U-city applications development by IBM Ubiquitous Computing Lab. We developed a call taxi service and an emergency rescue service for patients in u-Health scenarios. Using such TOPAZ application services as telemetry subscription, spatio-temporal event detection, and content push along with an end-to-end application model, we completed three different applications end-to-end within a relatively short time period and with minimal man power.-
