dc.description.abstract | Mishima Yukio's “Moon”, published in 1962, directly expose consuming society and young generation's culture. Japanese young people lost a purpose, and was wandering in Japanese post-war economic miracle. And young people was depended to a commodity, and lost identity. Mishima Yukio organized the private army, which is right-wing group “Tatenokai”(楯の会) in 1968. This group had opposite character to young generation like beatnik in 1960s. They attach importance to the totality of Japan, and They considered a moderation with virtue than freedom. The "Moon" in the text symbolize the absolute existence as like Tenno, whom young men of "Tatenokai" worshiped. Mishima's “Moon” represented the mass consumer society with human alienation and this text is revealed meaningless life of young people. This text is a turning point of Mishima Yukio's works. | - |
