Abstract
We greatly appreciate Gaziano's invaluable comments' on our meta-analysis The comments gave us an opportunity to review our meta-analysis from a fresh perspective(2) In this note, we would like to address issues raised by Gaziano's critique We first clarify how we tested the knowledge gap hypothesis in our meta-analysis, an issue that seems to have raised the greatest concern Then, we move on to address additional issues one by one Finally, we conclude with our perspectives on future knowledge gap research
