- Abstract
- This study is to perform a longitudinal data analysis on the trading system of Korea Exchange (KRX) to find out what effects their investment in information technology (IT) had on KRX. Based on the analysis, this study is to present several research propositions that might be used in future studies on the effects of IT investment. To accomplish these research purposes, this study, with the definition of a stock trading in KRX as a transaction, examines what changes stock trading brings about in the transaction processing cost after the transaction procedure has been replaced from the manual to computerized system. This study also analyzes what impacts this change would have on transaction processing cost, on the assumption that all the stock trading, which is currently being processed in the computer system, is carried out in the manual processing system.
