- Abstract
- The purpose of this paper is to construct some theoretical arguments of the plate-form of the design semiotics, which will be served as its epistemological foundation. Living in an era of design where it is not only a cultural engine for the economic added value, but also constitutes a necessary condition of the consumption life dominating modern everyday life. The composition of this paper is as follows. Firstly, I presented a scientific landscape of some main trends of design semiotics. Secondly, the semiotic nature of design was reviewed from different angles: acceptation, semiotic modeling of design, and interface question. Thirdly, two main axes of design semiotics which are the dimensions of communication and signification were underlined. In the conclusion the author insisted on the crucial importance of the narrativity in a future design semiotics.
