- Abstract
- A scheduling method based on user usage patterns for volunteer computing is proposed. Non-disturbance scheduling algorithm based on user usage patterns in this paper is intended to provide method taking advantage of work time in agents effectively by reducing waste time although its returned work unit percentage might be a little dropped. It has also a benefit for green computing effects for energy conservation which are being deployed worldwide while it reduces inconvenience affecting users due to work failure. It maximizes the throughput of the agent with 100% system resources and reduces switching between the agent and the user. User patterns of donating computing resources are analyzed using Korea@Home, which is a representative volunteer computing project in Korea. It promotes volunteers to participate continuously without disturbances and increases the potential computing power by non-disturbance scheduling based on user usage patterns.
