| dc.description.abstract | China’s economic development since the reforms in late 1970s. This paper examines the driving forces behind an increase of TVEs across Chinese provinces from 1991 to 2002, paying particular attention to entrepreneurial, market and political factors. Our regression analysis shows that the entrepreneurial factors are a major driving force for the increase of private TVEs, while collective TVEs are mainly driven by political factors. | - |
