The purpose of the thesis is to investigate on the role of a postposition in Baek-suk's poems. He was a poet who knew how to handle Korean language well. He polished Korean and made the expressions fine. He was the one who varified Korean expressions after So-wol and Ji-yong. He used dialects a lot and used language structures in many different ways. He influenced after poets especially in poetic sentence structures. There are many poets who write poems based on the poetic structures of Baek-suk. A postposition plays an essential role in Baek-suk's poems. A postposition is a typical feature of the Altai language. In Korean language, there is a 'word string' which is composed of substantial-meaning word and grammar-functioning word. This typical combination is a common feature of the Altai language. A postposition is one of the grammar-functioning words. It originally doesn't possess any real meaning but there is a kind of a postposition which has actual meaning. The original type, which doesn't have any meanings, is called 'case marker', and the one that has meaning is called 'subsidiary particle' or 'special particle'. Examples of 'case marker' : 'i/ka', 'eul/rul', 'ui', 'wa/kwa'. Examples of 'subsidiary particle' are various including 'eun/nun', 'to', 'man', 'kaji', 'jocha', and etc.,, Korean language has developed a postposition diversely. Baek-suk made full use of a postposition which has an important role in Korean language in order to create unique poetic expressions and to express poetic meanings delicately. Also, he could create some beautiful rhythms using a postposition.-
