- Abstract
- Many people say that most poems written by Baek-Suk including「Go-ya(古夜:old night)」are not organized for the main idea. But this Article debates that「Go-ya(古夜:old night)」organically shows reduction of the fear.
In the first and second paragraph, the story that the persona heard confused with illusion brings about the fear. And the third and fourth paragraph include memory of reducing the fear(darkness, aloneness). Then in the fifth and sixth paragraph, stable future from the fear is insured to narrator. So to speak, when Baek-suk wrote the poem, he wants to reduce the suffer by settling his fear in the memory of childhood. In addition, readers who appreciate this poem would be helped reconstruction of their own the epic of self.
