dc.description.abstract | Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of heat stress on HSP72, inflammatory markers, blood lactate concentration and anaerobic performance in young adults. Method: Ten young men aged 20-29 participated in the treatment of heat stress (HS) and normal temperature stress (NT), respectively. Wingate test was performed immediately after HS or NT. Blood samples were measured at rest, immediately after treatment and immediately after the Wingate test. HSP72, CK, and hs-CRP were analyzed with blood samples. Blood lactate was measured at rest, after Wingate test 3min, 5min, 10min, 20min, and 30min. The tympanic temperature was continuously measured for 5 minutes. A two-way repeated measures ANOVA demonstrated a significant difference (p<.05). Bonferroni’s method was used for post-hoc analysis when a significant. The significant level of hypothesis verification is set-up as α=.05. Results: The results of this study are as follows. 1) HSP72 concentrations after treatment and Wingate test were increased significantly in HS. 2) CK concentrations after the Wingate test were increased significantly in HS. hs-CRP did not change in both treatments. 3) Blood lactate concentrations after Wingate test 3min were increased significantly in both treatments. The lactate oxidation rate was observed higher in HS than in NT. 4) Anaerobic performance was higher in HS than in NT. Conclusion: In summary, the findings in this study suggest that heat stress is effective for HSP72, blood lactate concentration and anaerobic performance. In particular, heat stress will benefit exercise performance by decreasing blood lactate concentration. | - |
