This paper aims to analyze the situation type of the RVC construction in Mandarin Chinese with configurational event structure of Pustejovsky's generative lexicon theory. In this paper, we claim that RVCs is divided into several subclasses, and each subclass has different event structure. In the configurational theory of event structure, accomplishments and achievements are the complex event which is consisted of two or more subevents, and a prominent subevent is marked as the head of an event. RVCs can be marked as the subevent that has a head. PRVCs also change a simple event into complex event. According to Pustejovsky(1995:72), the headed subevent contributes to the "focus" of the interpretation. In this point, we can explain why each subclass of RVCs has different entailment in the negative sentence.-
