- Abstract
- This study investigates a compact palladium membrane module (CPMM) for hydrogen purification, assembled by diffusion bonding at a low-temperature (450 degrees C). This CPMM resulted in hydrogen (H-2) flux of 18.3 mL cm(-2) min(-1) with H-2/N-2 selectivity of over 1100. The H-2 purification test using a 60% H-2/40% CO2 mixed gas confirmed that the CPMM can separate H-2 with a concentration of more than 99%, with a pressure difference of 5 bar. Moreover, the volume of the diffusion bonded membrane module is decreased by 81.4% than the flame-type membrane module pre-studied in our laboratory.
