dc.description.abstractJeju, an island located at the southern part of the Korean Peninsula, is a tourist destination due to its abundant natural environment value from ecotourism. This study evaluates the carbon dioxide emissions from the process of Jeju ecotourism where an ecotourism trip is a product, and its start and end process is defined by the start and end of a trip. To estimate the amount of CO2 emitted, statistics provided by Jeju province and relevant government agencies were taken into account. With the collected open data, the CO2 emission from each transportation, accommodation and activity sector was estimated through methodologies provided by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC), and relevant research such as life cycle assessment. In summary, accommodation emits the highest amount of CO2 during the trip process, at 235,939 ton CO2 followed by 20,798.06 ton CO2 for transportation and 4,178 ton CO2 for ecotourism activity.-
