dc.description.abstract | Background The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the three attributes of interaction narrative (i.e., nucleus event, sequentiality, and provocative event) on the aesthetic experience of interaction. Methods The study set up experiments to compare the aesthetic evaluation of design results with and without the three narrative attributes. The study invited three undergraduate seniors majoring in UI/UX design to design Create a new playlist in music app flow with each condition. The results were evaluated by ten UI/UX design experts with five criterion of creative design: fascinating design, use of special effects, original design, and sophisticated design of non-visual expressive aesthetics. Results The results of changing order and adding provocative events showed significant changes that are worse and better when maintaining the nucleus events have no meaningful change. Changing the order got worse in speciality and originality when adding provocative events was improved in creativity, speciality and originality. The cause of aesthetic degeneration in sequentiality is interpreted as related to the divergence of familiarity. Nucleus events had effects more on recognizing the flow more thoroughly for helping the development. Provocative events played a crucial role in non-visual aesthetics in terms of creativity and originality. Conclusions First, the study suggests the necessity to change the viewpoint regarding functions as events for aesthetic narrative design. Second, the simple variation can cause a degenerative change by ignoring the familiarity. Third, it is important to secure the aesthetic stability by recognizing and properly applying the events. © 2019 Korean Society of Design Science. | - |
