- Abstract
- Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine which types of leisure activities are associated with social support, health perception, and life satisfaction among Korean individuals who have physical disabilities. Methods: Using a purposive sampling strategy, a total of 238 individuals who have physical disabilities participated in this study. Results: This study showed that participation in cultural activities and volunteer activities predicted life satisfaction. Engagement in cultural and social activities was positively associated with social support from family and friends. In addition, participants who engaged in physical activities and cultural activities are likely to perceive higher health perception. Conclusions: Particular types of leisure activities may be related to social support, health perception, and life satisfaction among individuals who have physical disabilities. This study provides insights into how to increase life satisfaction and social support by offering various recreational programs for individuals who have physical disabilities.
