- Abstract
- Active stereo measurement utilizing two cameras and a projector is used extensively for optical 3D measurements. Although this system has its advantages over other contactless measurement methods, such as the ability to acquire more precise data, its biggest weakness is the generation of occlusion between the two cameras. This problem can be resolved by applying existing methods when manipulating the information captured by the projector. However, another weak point is the observation of precision levels that are less than those generated by the use of two cameras. In this paper, the projector is used to resolve occlusion problems while also providing a re-projection method that resolves precision problems.
