dc.description.abstract | Use of low-quality (and inexpensive) feedstock such as waste oils and animal fats for biodiesel synthesis has been continuously researched as a prospective means of improving the economic efficiency of the process. Pretreatment of free fatty acids by catalytic esterification is necessary for achieving this purpose. This paper reviews some relevant studies on heterogeneous acid catalysts that have been shown to be effective for this reaction. | - |
