초록

This study seeks to find rational measures for dealing with particles and endings in terms of theoretical descriptions of grammar and practical applications. Particles and endings are categorized different. This makes it impossible to establish a generic concept which embraces particles and endings. This study categorizes them according to their functions. It discusses that they are qualified as words that are an integrated categorization. This study also suggests the exclusive distributions of words and syntactic words in that they include units with substantive and formal meanings and that syntactic words are combined units of substantive and formal meanings. It is the function of elements that is essential to understanding the structure of sentences. In order to eliminate these drawbacks of the categorization, this study attempts classification of the functions which play important roles in describing and educating structures of sentences. This classification also grasps the same functions of particles and endings.
