초록
A mathematical model is derived to investigate the performance of cometabolic bioventing process. The model included the partitioning of pollutants into four phases such as gas, gas-water interface, water, and solid phase. The gas-water interface adsorption has not been included in the current models, but it could be an important mechanism in the transport of contaminant in vadose zone. In this research, the mathematical model was developed which can simulate cometabolic bioventing process considering the adsorption of pollutant into water-gas interface. The partitioning and decaying of contaminant in each phases with first order mass transfer and cometabolic reaction were integrated. The partial differential equations were solved with various numerical techniques, such as finite difference method and finite volume method. The air flow equation and contaminant transport equation were validated with analytical solution in two dimensional axis-symmetric and in three dimensional cartesian coordinate respectively. Finally interphase mass transfer and cometabolic degradation of pollutants were compared with the results from the previous studies. The model was constructed that it can take into account the heterogeneous conditions of the soil environment. The differences between results from the developed model and the reported results were in the acceptable range and the model can be used in designing and operating steps of cometabolic bioventing process.
