Deep hypothermic circulatory arrest for thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm repair in a patient with a large intracranial anterior communicating artery aneurysm

Abdominal aortic aneurysms occasionally occur concomitantly with an intracranial artery aneurysm (ICA). The association of an ICA with a thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) is relatively rare. A patient with this condition is presented. Coiling of the ICA was not an option preoperatively because of the dissected false lumen of the TAAA, rendering a femoral artery approach impossible.
