초록

This study proposes a partial precast concrete segmental bridge column with a simplified precast segment design and new construction technologies to improve manufacturability and workability while maintaining safety. In the proposed design, the cast-in-place (CIP) method is applied to the base of the column to maintain energy dissipation capacity, and the upper part of the column has a single circular hollow section with no internal compartments to enhance the manufacturability of the precast concrete segments. Ribs are installed to ensure the transportation safety of the precast concrete segments, and shear keys are used to increase the bonding effects. The segmental columns are assembled using vertical fixtures, rather than the match-casting method, to improve workability. The equivalent viscous damping ratio of the specimen is 22.1%. Simulation results of a three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) model and a frame model of the test specimen are in good agreement with the experimental data. The influences of three parameters-compressive concrete strength of the CIP base, length of the CIP base, and yield strength of the longitudinal reinforcement-on the performance of the column are investigated using the validated 3D FE model. Additionally, nonlinear time-dependent analyses are conducted with the validated frame model. Results confirm low peak-acceleration responses and small residual lateral displacements of the column, validating the substantial energy dissipation capacity and operational continuity of the proposed column, even in areas with a high seismic risk.
