사회와 문화의 이분법을 넘어서 - 미국 스포츠사와 계급 연구 -

초록

Starting from the 1980s, influenced by critical sociology, American sport historians began to illuminate the ways in which sports were related to the construction and disintegration of social categories and social domination. As a result, class became an important topic to illuminate the constructionist view of social categories and social domination. The theory of hegemony also helped sport historians explore the mutual relationship between class as a social structure and culture (cultural spaces). Other sport historians introduced a linguistic turn to stress the cultural construction of class structure. But American sport history still needs a fresh methodology to understand the interconnections that exist between class and other social categories and to avoid a structural explanation of class.
