초록

Cyclodextrins (CDs), particularly n-CD, have gained prominence in drug delivery systems owing to their exceptional molecular structures and versatile properties. This review explores applications of n-CD and its derivatives, emphasizing their pivotal role in enhancing drug solubility, stability, and controlled release. Polymeric nanoparticles incorporating n-CD are successfully used as carriers for targeted drug delivery, offering better bioavailability and reduced side effects. Moreover, recent n-CD-based nanocomposite formulations show promise for treating complex diseases such as atherosclerosis and cancer. One-dimensional nanostructures, especially n-CD nanofibers, hold significant potential in biomedical applications, particularly in wound healing and tissue regeneration. These nanofibers exhibit controlled drug release, biocompatibility, and support for cell growth, highlighting their suitability for various therapeutic applications. Furthermore, n-CD-based hydrogels offer a platform for controlled drug release and localized therapy, addressing challenges in drug resistance and systemic toxicity. This review, to our knowledge, is the first to focus on advancements in n-CD-based materials for three-dimensional printing, cancer therapy, tissue engineering, and wound healing. Owing to their versatile nature, n-CD materials continue to drive innovations in drug delivery technologies, offering tailored solutions to address diverse therapeutic needs.
