초록

The aim of this paper is to study the distribution and grammatical category of {-eokajigo} based on spontaneous speech and also to compare {-eokajigo} with {-eosoe} in the aspect of semantic functions. The results are as follows; At first, {-eokajigo} becomes an ending category through grammaticilization process. However, it is hard to say that {-eokajigo} is perfect ending category because it is only used in spontaneous speech. Secondly, {-eokajigo} is used in order of ‘[Cause] > [Sequence] > [Manner] > [Enumerate]’, similar to {-eoseo}. But in case of {-eokajigo}, there is a much more gap in the frequency of usage between [Cause] and [Sequence] when we compare with {-eoseo}. And also {-eokajigo} is usually used as [Enumerate] not as [Manner] because it is periphrasis.
