Korean civil procedure starts new era of electronic civil procedure because all the civil cases which handles on the merits have been applied Electronic Procedure Act from May 2nd, 2011. Korean electronic procedure has such a unique features that its regulations for electronic court filings and electronic services are devised and suitable only for the Korean civil procedure. They did not imitate any other regulations of any other countries in the world. The electronic procedure regulations have user oriented designs. A party of a civil procedure is able to file a lawsuit and court documents electronically using any computer anywhere if he or she has a electronic certificate and can use internet. Court documents are also prepared and filed electronically, and serviced electronically. If a court want to make a service court documents electronically, it upload them in the electronic procedure system and notice it to the parties. When a party opens the uploaded documents, then the service to this party is completed. For a early implementation of new electronic court filing system into Korean civil procedure practice, educations for new users are inevitable. The Korean electronic procedure would get huge development in the near future.
