초록

This study examined the mediating influences on the relationship between external environments and standardization. The mediating effects of cross-functional collaboration and HQ-subsidiary collaboration on the external environments - standardization relationships were tested in the current study. The findings suggest that the positive impact of competitive intensity on standardization is partly mediated by (that is, achieved through) greater collaboration among different functions. In addition, the results show that the positive impact of technological change on standardization is partly mediated by cross-functional collaboration. The findings also suggest that the positive impact of competitive intensity on standardization is partly mediated by (that is, achieved through) greater collaboration between headquarters and subsidiaries. In addition, the results show that the positive impact of technological change on standardization is partly mediated by HQ-subsidiary collaboration.
