초록

A magnet using a High-T-c Superconducting (HTS) tapes often consist of stacked pancakes or solenoids. Need for connecting each coil or adding insufficient superconducting part of applications is the reason why splice is required. Splice characteristics on the tapes wound on curved area are easily subjected to bending force. In order for the tape on the curved area to achieve appropriate splice characteristics, the effect of both applied pressure and bending strain should be taken into consideration. In this paper both bending strain and pressure dependent splice characteristics were investigated to figure out design parameters of magnet applications, which include the curved area in splicing. A tape was firstly spliced on a flat plate, and then the tape made curved. The splice and curve were performed under various conditions in terms of pressure and strain. Characteristics of spliced samples such as splice resistance and critical current were measured from V - I curves. We also drew the preferred splice condition through experimental results.
