한자어 어원의 국어사전 처리 방안 연구

초록

In this paper I looked at the status of Sino­Korean words in the Korean vocabulary system and the various characteristics related to the origin of Sino­Korean words in relation to the etymological information of Korean. I also looked at the following points about the etymology processing method on Sino­Korean words of the existing dictionaries: i)The fact that it is necessary to ascertain the Chinese characters of every syllable if the linguistic form matches the sounds of Sino­Korean words, ii)The fact that it is necessary to trace the history if the linguistic form has changed from the original sounds of Sino­Korean words, iii)The fact that it is necessary to reflect the result of the studies so far if the concerned word could be considered as Sino­Korean word although treated as a native word in dictionaries. Other issues concerning the definition and inclusion range of etymological information for Sino­Korean word, the specific methodology and underlying work for etymological representation, and the amount and level of etymological information provided, as well as the first appearance form and historical change information were also discussed.
