韓国人日本語学習者による意見表明の発話末の様相 ─ 日本語母語話者との比較から ─

Study aimed to clarify how Korean learners of Japanese discuss with native Japanese speakers, and in this regard, both quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted focusing on utterance final segments. First, as a general trend of utterance final segments, the analysis found that elements with the function to soften speaker's own utterance, such as “kedo” and “te,” and elements with the function to actively engage the receiver, such as “ne” and “ja nai desu ka” were added approximately once per utterance final segment. Comparing the results with those of the native speakers, the expressions to prompt the receiver's response, such as “ja nai desu ka” tended to be used, and a percentage of declarative sentence was higher in the final utterance segments. The conversation samples with native speakers showed that the learners discussed using both utterance final segments of simple declarative sentences and those with added elements. By contrast, strong engagement to the receiver stalled the conversation in some cases. Finally we discussed what kind of approach can be taken from Japanese language education to discussion in contact situations, and offered some suggestions for instruction.
