Conventional bandstop filters (BSFs) have a limited upper passband due to multiple reasons. One of the main reasons is that the resonators used in a filter design have harmonic frequencies at which additional stopbands are produced. The stopband at the lowest harmonic frequency terminates the upper passband. This article introduces a design approach for a wide-passband microstrip BSFs.
