초록

We propose a genetic tuning loop technique for optimal focusing of switchable liquid crystal (LC) lens with a symmetric planar electrode array. Specifically, the optimal voltage input finding problem for the LC lens with symmetrically patterned electrodes is posed, and the genetic tuning loop is designed to optimize the focal spot of the LC lens. The proposed technique is experimentally validated for the optimal tuning of an LC lens with a cell gap of 10 mu m and symmetric 35 electrodes for primary red, green, and blue colored lights. Numerical simulation shows that the 3D lenticular display operation with the LC lens array presents about 40 degrees viewing angle without inter-view crosstalk.
