초록

Korea was placed in the crisis which was going to lose sovereignty, and was practically entering toward the colony in 1904~1905. Japan broke out a war about Russia in order to occupy Korea, and contracted Eulsa-treaty(을사조약) with Korea by force. The Korean people resisted about Japan which invaded sovereignty of Korea. In those days Jigyusik(지규식) who lived in a GyeongGi-Do Bunweon(분원) village hated aggressive actions of Japan. He worried the future of the Korea and had a loyalty to the king Gojong(고종). But he did not struggle directly against Japan, also did not have thinking or will like that. Besides he was skeptical about independence of Korea by reason of weakness of Korea. And he had critical attitude toward righteous army(의병) movement because righteous army injured the person and took the property by force. He did not have an interest about purpose and intention of the righteous army. After he connived the advance of Japanese who took aim at china industry of a Bunweon village. Moreover he made friends with them. As being like that he looked after his own interests. He took a superficial view of the contemporary situation, did not recognize the structural power relation and significant meaning. His recognition and confrontation about the contemporary situation were variable and two-sided. The macroscopic discussion differed from actual position. They were under the direct or indirect influence of theory of social evolution and Asian solidarity.
