Caring Community in Zimbabwe:A Case of the Musasa Project

초록

This study focuses on the Musasa Project, an NGO-based Zimbabwean initiative. The project aims to support women who have suffered from gender-based violence and promote the empowerment of women and girls. The study conducted qualitative interviews with 15 project beneficiaries and 5 professionals involved with Musasa. It found that the project has a positive impact, creating strong networks of support and interaction opportunities, improving knowledge and skills sharing, and enhancing community participation and co-production. These findings demonstrate that the project embodies the characteristics of a caring community. The study highlights that caring communities can build social networks and relationships, promoting solidarity among women and girls and the wider community, leading to community capacity building and resilience.
