≪讀杜心解≫의 ≪杜詩詳注≫ 수용 양상 연구

초록

This study examines the patterns of reception and critique directed toward DuShiXiangZhu杜詩詳注 as articulated in DuDuXinJie讀杜心解, with the aim of illuminating how the commentary tradition on Du Fu’s poetry has undergone transformation and deepening. The analysis demonstrates that DuDuXinJie extensively absorbs key elements of DuShiXiangZhu—including semantic analysis, segmentation and structural interpretation, and historical contextualization of composition—in order to construct a more coherent explanatory framework. Po Qilong repeatedly praises Qiu Zhao’ao’s meticulous readings and adopts them as interpretive standards, indicating that DuDuXinJie not only draws upon DuShiXiangZhu but also incorporates its theoretical foundations into its own exegetical system. Nevertheless, despite such positive engagement, DuDuXinJie maintains a clear critical distance from what it regards as the limitations of DuShiXiangZhu. First, interpretations deemed vulgar or narrowly conceived are reassessed through the lens of Confucian propriety and literary decorum, leading DuDuXinJie to pursue a more refined and restrained mode of reading. Second, where the segmentation strategies of DuShiXiangZhu appear mechanically applied and disruptive to poetic coherence, DuDuXinJie proposes more context-sensitive alternatives, thereby correcting structural rigidity. Third, by identifying inaccuracies in chronology and geographical background, it underscores the necessity of rigorous factual verification as the basis of Du Fu scholarship. Such critiques reflect Po Qilong’s resolve not to inherit authoritative commentaries uncritically, but to refine and recalibrate exegetical precision. In sum, the attitude of DuDuXinJie toward DuShiXiangZhu is neither one of wholesale acceptance nor outright rejection; rather, it adopts a dual strategy of inheriting its strengths while critically correcting its weaknesses. This mode of critical succession—rare in the history of Du Fu commentary—reveals Po Qilong’s scholarly self-consciousness in striving for both systematic rigor and interpretive flexibility. Accordingly, DuDuXinJie may be understood not merely as a derivative product influenced by DuShiXiangZhu, but as a reinterpretive achievement that assimilates the classical tradition while attempting to transcend its limitations.
