초록

Abnormal weather on the Korean Peninsula is likely to worsen rather than improve in the future. Climate change on the Korean Peninsula is progressing faster than the global average. North and South Korea are in the same area of atmospheric influence, so much so that they can be called a ‘breathing community’. In order to respond to and overcome global warming and abnormal like El Niño and La Niña, the need for cooper-ation in the field of meteorology that transcends borders is increasing over time. Inter-Korean meteorological cooperation to respond to natural disasters and climate change must be urgently pursued to protect the Korean Peninsula’s national environment and ecosystem beyond political and ideological differences and to realize Green Détente for the safety and prosperity of future generations. It is a time when various considerations and initiatives are needed to quickly promote inter-Korean meteorological community.
