≪經典釋文≫의 徐邈 音注에 반영된 陽聲韻 음운체계

초록

The purpose of this study is to establish the phonological system of finals[韻母] for each nasal-ending rime based on the Xu Miao[徐邈]’s sound glossess recorded in the Jingdian Shiwen[≪經典釋文≫]. As the Xu’s phonological system is situated in the transitional period between Old Chinese[OC] and Middle Chinese[MC], it is crucial to elucidate its relationship with both OC and MC in a coherent manner. This study presents its arguments based on OC and MC phonology as proposed by Zheng-Zhang Shang Fang. Additionally, Guo Pu[郭璞], who predates Xu Miao by 68 years, also provided phonological data in sound glosses. The author has previously established the comprehensive phonological system of Guo Pu in a series of earlier studies. In this study, a rough comparison between the two phonological systems is also attempted, with a specific focus on the nasal-ending rimes. Throughout this study, the phonological system of the nasal-ending rimes as reflected in Xu Miao’s sound glosses has been established. Given that this system represents an intermediate stage of phonological changes from OC to MC, this study is expected to contribute to future research on the phonological changes within the Wei-Jin Period. When Xu’s system is compared with Guo’s system, most rimes share an identical system in terms of the finals of the nasal-ending rimes. However, there are also differences: some rimes of Xu demonstrate a more rapid pace of phonological changes while others appear to be more conservative. These minor differences between the two systems are likely due to the discrepancies of their birthplaces and the specific regional nature of Xu’s upbringing, solely in the Eastern Jin.
