Stereoselective Syntheses of Octadecanoids, 9(S)-HODE, and 9(S),10(S),13(S)-TriHOME

Octadecanoids and their metabolites are known to be biologically active lipid mediators. 9(S)-HODE and 9(S),10(S),13(S)-TriHOME, the main metabolites of linoleic acid produced by 15-lipoxygenase, exhibit enantioselective potency and function as endogenous ligands in biological systems. However, the structural modification of 9(S)-HODE and 9(S),10(S),13(S)-TriHOME in pharmaceutical applications remains largely underexplored. Herein, we report the stereoselective syntheses of 9(S)-HODE and 9(S),10(S),13(S)-TriHOME to enable access to bioactive octadecanoid analogues.
