청년과 중년의 의미있는 일 경험 탐색: CQR-M을 활용하여

초록

This study explored how meaningful work was experienced by young and middle-aged adults. CQR-M analysis of data from 98 working adults yielded 2 domains, 4 categories, and 16 subcategories. Domain 1, ‘Conditions for Meaningful Work’, comprised self-oriented and other-oriented meanings. Domain 2, ‘Experience of Meaningful Work’, consisted of self-oriented and other-oriented meaningfulness. The categories of positive emotions, social contributions, decent work, competency through outcomes, bonds such as communication and cooperation, and recognition were common in the two areas, but ‘work consistent with the self-concept’ was found only in the ‘conditions’ area and ‘playing the role of social members’ only in the ‘experiences’ area. Additionally, as the result of comparing meaningful work conditions and experiences between young and middle-aged people, most of the categories were similar, but other-oriented meaning and meaningfulness were relatively important in the middle-aged group. Based on these findings, implications for future meaningful work research and career counseling were proposed.
