Melanoma Research is a multidisciplinary journal devotedto the rapid communication of results in the field of melanoma, including cutaneous, uveal and mucosal sites. Papers reporting basic, translational, clinical and epidemiological studies are accepted according to the following preferences and peer review:
Basic research: biology, molecular biology - i.e. genetics, genomics - directly related to pathogenesis and pathology of melanoma.
Translational research: fundamental data that are applicable to the diagnosis and treatment of melanoma, especially unveiling new pathways which could be therapeutic targets or biomarkers.
Clinical research: diagnosis, prognosis, including biomarkers, and treatment including results of clinical trials.
Epidemiological research: studies on the causes of melanoma, with special emphasis on molecular epidemiology. Validation studies on new parameters of prognosis.
The journal publishes original research and review articles, short communications,i.e. new findings that merit quick dissemination, and letters to the Editors. The reporting of new clinical results and the effect and toxicity of new therapeutic agents and immunotherapy will be given emphasis by rapid publication of Short communications.
