The Scandinavian Journal of Surgery (SJS) is the official peer reviewed journal of the Finnish Surgical Society and the Scandinavian Surgical Society.

The main aim of the journal is on the rapidly advancing front of clinical surgery, providing new knowledge to the global surgical community. In addition to original articles and reviews, a special section entitled “How we do it” aims to publish short clinical reports or practical surgical techniques or innovations with relevant pictures or drawings. SJS regularly publishes themed special issues consisting of a series of invited review articles commissioned by 1-3 guest editors. SJS does not publish case reports.
