Aime & Scopes

  • GeroScience is a bi-monthly, international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes articles related to research in the biology of aging and research on biomedical applications that impact aging. The scope of articles to be considered include evolutionary biology, biophysics, genetics, genomics, proteomics, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, endocrinology, immunology, physiology, pharmacology, neuroscience, and psychology. Articles concerning clinical studies may also be considered but the results should reveal underlying biological mechanisms of aging. Studies must reflect more than issues related to the care and treatment of geriatric patients. Papers concerned with social, economic, and political issues of aging will generally not be considered unless they relate directly to biomedical gerontology. In addition to manuscripts emerging from original research, the journal actively solicits research reviews of important topics in biomedical gerontology. Other types of manuscripts are also acceptable, such as commentaries, debates, and meeting reports..
