Purpose: We aimed to develop a Korean version of Rhetorical Sensitivity Scale by Eadie and Powell (1991). The scale is expected to help communication students and educators by letting them to know what their communication types are and how they can be improved. Methods: We carried out exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis to examine the factor structure of the scale and based on the results we categorized communication types of the respondents. Then, we investigated the correlations among the factors of RHETSEN-K, Communication Competency Scale, and Big 5 to affirm convergent and discriminant validity of RHETSEN-K. Results: The results of factor analysis suggested the three factors, rhetorical sensitives, noble selves, and rhetorical reflectors as in the original study, but the factor structure was slightly different. The internal consistency of the three factors were all above .7. The results of convergent and discriminant validity showed that rhetorical sensitives were positively correlated with information gathering, taking initiatives, understanding others'perspectives, extroversion, agreeableness, and openness to experience. Noble selves showed a negative correlation with overcoming stereotypes and positive correlations with taking initiatives, extroversion, and openness to experience. Rhetorical reflectors showed negative correlations with self disclosure, taking initiatives, extroversion, and openness to experience. Conclusion: These results support that the original concepts of the three types are mostly kept in Korea. Finally, the relationship between rhetorical sensitivity and the East-West cultural differences and educational implications of RHETSEN-K are discussed-
