- Abstract
- Following ratification of the Kyoto Protocol, many nations adopted policies designed to encourage firms to use eco-friendly transportation vehicles. Recently, the Republic of Korea ranked as the eighth highest emitter of carbon. This means that the Republic of Korea must take responsibility for reducing its carbon emission under the Kyoto Protocol. Further, this responsibility constitutes a fumdamental reason for the importance of research behind constructing a system of sustainable transportation. The transportation sector accounts for a large proportion of carbon emission in the Republic of Korea. Accordingly, this article offers a dispatching rule for logistics that operates in the context of carbon credit trading and application for smart space to reduce the Republic of Korea's carbon emission from the transportation sector. © 2013 International Information Institute.
