Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of moderate aerobic exercise with difference of cardiorespiratory fitness level on growth hormone, glucose, insulin, free fatty acids and insulin resistance. The subjects of this study were 21 healthy college-aged males and were divided into three groups; high level group(HG, O2max=49.8±1.0, n=7), middle level group(MG, O2max=45.1±1.4, n=7), and low level group(LG, O2max=40.5,±1.7 n=7). The body composition, maximal oxygen consumption were measured before aerobic exercise at 70%O2R for 30 minutes. Blood samples was measured before and immediately after exercise, 30 minutes after exercise. Data were analyzed by One-way ANOVA and Two-way repeated ANOVA. Statistical significance was set at p<.05. As a result of this study, growth hormone, free fatty acids were increased immediately after exercise and were reduced at 30 minutes after exercise in all groups(p<.05). Glucose was increased immediately after exercise and decreased at 30 minutes after exercise in MG and LG(p<.05). Insulin was decreased immediately after exercise in HG and LG(p<.05). HOMA-IR was not significantly different immediately after the exercise but showed a significantly low level at 30 minutes after exercise compared to before exercise in all groups(p<.05). In conclusion, moderate intensity aerobic exercise represents a similar fat metabolism and has the effect of improving insulin resistance Regardless of differences in levels of cardiorespiratory fitness.
