Abstract
A new Li secondary battery system embedded in semi-conductor processing is suggested. A microcage structure was fabricated using a nonconductive PR (photoresist) deposited on a Si wafer. The holes in the PR-microcage were filled with Li DET (droplet emulsion technique) powders. The microcage structure was used as the current collector, while the inserted lithium powders were used as the anode material. Vanadium oxide was chosen as a non-lithiated cathode, and the cycle behaviors of the cell were studied. The dissolution/deposition behaviors of the Li powders were observed by SEM (scanning electron microscopy). The growth of the dendrite was suppressed during the discharge/charge process and the cycle performance showed good cycling efficiency without degradation after the eighth cycle.
