- Abstract
- We present a high-performance line-drawing algorithm by using geometric buffers. Its main advantage is that the processing time is largely independent on the number of input primitives. Processing involves two steps: geometric information is projected onto 2D textures; then image processing methods are applied to these textures to extract feature lines. The first step simply packs geometric information into buffers, which is very fast on modern GPUs. And the second step provides us constant execution time. The results show that our method has faster and more consistent performance (independent to the model complexity) than previous works. And the surface details are also well-preserved by significantly suppressing noisy factors.
