- 일반적으로 국제회의란 회의, 대회, 집회 등의 의미로서 사람들이 모여 서로 회합을 갖는것 또는 사람을 중심으로 상품, 지식, 정보 등의 교류를 위한 모임이나 회합의 장소를 갖춘 이벤트나 전시회를 가리킨다.*** 그리고 국제회의산업은 국제회의 유치 및 개최에 필요한 시설과 서비스에 관련된 산업뿐만 아니라 국제회의 참가자의 겸목적적 관광행위를 포함한 산업으로 정의할 수 있다(이장춘･박창수, 2003).
